Visceral Visuals Projects

I began working for Visceral Visuals in January of 2020. I have been working directly under Evan Soloff, the founder and producer of Visceral Visuals, to grow my video development and editing skills. At Visceral Visuals, we believe, “When There’s A Story Worth Telling, Capture It.” This concept is the driving force behind every project and what allows us to share your visions and connect with your desired Target Audience. At this company I have drastically improved my Adobe After Effects and Premire Pro skills, have been taught how to set up and disassemble sets, create and track daily production schedules, work with clients and make their stories come to life.

Visceral Visuals Video Intro

One of the biggest responsibilities I was tasked with at Visceral Visuals was creating an introduction video that captured the company’s brand personality and that could be used at the beginning of every project including commercial videos, real-estate projects, music videos, and documentaries.

Staff Zone Recruitment Video

Visceral Visuals was hired to create a recruitment video for Staff Zone to use when hiring their sales force. This video is that largest project I have worked on at Visceral Visuals so far. Evan and I created the entire video from pre-production, production and post production. I worked as a Assistant director and assistant camera operator on the three days of filming it took to shoot the video where I tracked our daily progress against our production schedule, set up and disassembled sets, operated B Cam for the interviews and shot B Roll. I then worked as an assistant editor in post production where Evan I collaborated on the song selections, direction of the Video, and overall edits. This project allowed me to learn and experience the entire production process from start to finish.

John Shingler, Castles in the Sky

John Shingler is an aspiring music artist who hired Visceral Visuals to create a mini autobiography video series on his journey as a musician. For this project I was tasked with editing together the second episode in the series,

University of Georgia Campaigns Advertising Class Project

For this Advertising class me and my team were tasked with creating an entire campaign for Cheeseburger Bobby’s, an American fast casual restaurant chain.

Thrive Media & Consulting Intro Video

Because the class was split into two separate teams, I decided to use Adobe After Effects to make an introduction video for my team that would capture our spunk and commitment to the project and be played at the beginning of our final presentation. ,

University of Georgia Digital Video Production and Directing Class Projects

Although Film Studies was major at the University of Georgia, it has always been my passion and career path I’ve chosen to pursue. The Digital Video Production and Directing classes I took at the University of Georgia prepared me with the skills and experience I would need to pursue a career in film. I was trained on video camera, editing, premier pro, lighting, set design, and directing. Below are some of the projects I created in both of these classes.

A Murder in Hollywood

For the final half of the semester in my directing class the entire class collaberated on creating a short film from start to finish. I was casted as the First Assistant Director in the short film and the sole editor. It took me about two weeks to edit the entire short film and then I worked closely with director on revisions and the final product.

Derek and Janet

For this assignment each student was given the same script and was asked to direct and edit their own interpretation of it. For my interpretation I created Derek as an abusive father and Janet as a mother who has had it in her marriage.

Cooking

For this assignment we were tasked with creating two videos that demonstrated an elapsed amount of time. The first video I created was 19 minutes long, and showed the entire process of making a pie. We then had to make a second video that was much shorter but was cut to distort time, creating the illusion of the same amount of time in the first video.

Chase Scene

For this assignment the class was put into groups and tasked with creating a 1-2 minute chase scene where each group member had to submit their own edit of the video. The audio had to consist of only music and the story had to demonstrate spatial continuity, effective pacing and music, effective reaction shots, and communicate the characters state of mind. We could not include any diegetic sound, pantomime, dialogue or silent film-ear title cards. We had to include at lease one point of view shot and change the line of axis at least once.
